EEL Shortlisted for ‘Health and Safety’ excellence at awards ceremony

Environmental Essentials successfully secured a place on the shortlist for the Health and Safety award at the 2017 Building Communities Awards

This is just one of several recent health and safety achievements for the asbestos consultancy and training provider. The award (hosted by procurement consortium, EEM Ltd) recognises the professionalism, excellence and innovation of the regions construction related industry and social housing. This gives all entrants the opportunity of showcasing development and involvement in construction projects.

EEL were shortlisted from a considerable number of entrants for the Health and Safety Award. Competing against national construction giants such as Jewson, Vaillant and Grafton Group plc for an award.

Part of EELs’ awards submission was a demonstration of their dedication to compliance, effective safe working practices, risk management and the engaging safety culture with their people, clients and supply chain.

Kathryn Ing, Health Safety and Environmental Manager at EEL said “To be shortlisted against so many major national companies is incredible and just shows the excellence we have built into our business safety systems to get to this level. We chose to enter the awards because it is a creative way to demonstrate to our clients and industry competitors just how focused we are about health and safety. We involve everybody in health and safety at EEL and our shortlisting at the awards is a credit to our national teams working together to achieve safety success”.

“Securing a place on the shortlist was a fantastic achievement for EEL and will only strengthen our internal HSE culture and bond with clients”. Said Kate Jefferies, Project Manager at EEL Wakefield, who attended the awards ceremony with Kathryn in February.

EEL intend to build on this success, and, as members of RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) have also taken part in the annual RoSPA Safety Awards: results pending.
